Shirts | |
General |
A Ready To Wear shirt will obviously never fit as perfectly as a bespoke shirt. However, our standard shirt sizes cater for a majority of our customers. Our shirt fit is what's known as "full cut" - it is not a fitted shirt (a bespoke body fit) nor is it a tent. Our Shirts taper slightly towards the waist. Remember to review the Shirt Sizing chart to establish that your measurements are within a reasonable tolerance of our standard sizes. |
Collar Size |
A reasonably simple task; just measure around the base of your neck where the shirt's collar would normally sit. Remember to allow enough room for one or two finger tips (depending on how loose you like your collar to fit) to be inserted comfortably between the tape measure and your neck when taking the measurement. Generally, we recommend that if you are between sizes it is better to go for the larger size. Alternatively, take one of your own business shirts that you feel has a comfortable collar size then simply lay it out flat and measure the distance between the middle of the button hole and the middle of the button on the inside (the part next to your skin) of the collar. |
Sleeve Length |
You will need somebody to help you with this one! Stand in an upright posture with your arms placed straight down by your sides. Take a tape measure from the centre of your shoulder's (about 1" or 2.5 cm below where your shirt collar sits) then run the tape across the top of your shoulder and down the outside of your arm to a point 1/2" or 1.25cm past the prominent bone of the wrist. Alternatively, using one of your favourite shirts that fits well. Lay it on a flat surface and measure from the centre of the shoulder down the full length of the sleeve to the bottom of the cuff. Allow and extra 1/2" or 1.25cm for material shrinkage after washing. |
Chest Size |
Put the measuring tape around the fullest part of your chest remembering to keep the tape horizontal. Back to top |
Knitwear | |

For comfort and style we recommend a garment size that is 4" (10 cm) larger than your actual chest measurement. |

Boxer Shorts | |
General |
All our Boxer Shorts have elasticated waists. If your waist measurement is on the borderline between two sizes we recommend that you chose the larger. All our sizes are ranged, for example 27" - 29" (68.6cm - 73.7cm), where the larger measurement takes up some of the elastic expansion, but still leaves a comfortable fit. |
Waist |
Place the measuring tape against the skin around the fullest part of your waist, usually just above your hips. Back to top |
